About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will support applications that are used by Wells Fargo's 270,000+ employees, over 1 million external job seekers, and more than 4,000 HR professionals.
In this position, you will provide essential support to development teams and applications within the Human Resources Data, Reporting & Analytics organization, utilizing Oracle Exadata and Microsoft Fabric. Your day-to-day tasks may involve administering MS Fabric, executing and managing code deployments, addressing security vulnerabilities, and overseeing access controls. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with development teams, application owners, platform support staff, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective solutions.
The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.
Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) team provides technology support for team member focused applications and processes, including payroll, benefits, learning and recruiting.
In this role, you will:
- Lead moderately complex initiatives within Technology and contribute to large scale data processing framework initiatives related to enterprise strategy deliverables
- Build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting
- Review and analyze moderately complex business, operational or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Oversee the data integration work, including developing a data model, maintaining a data warehouse and analytics environment, and writing scripts for data integration and analysis
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet data engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of data information policies, procedures and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with colleagues and managers to resolve data engineering issues and achieve strategic goals
- Support application development teams in the areas of code deployments, application support, access management, Microsoft Fabric administration and various non-functional requirements associated with application management.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Data Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of experience on a Data Warehousing development team
- 1+ years of experience of cloud-based data management experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Microsoft Fabric administration experience.
- Dev-Ops experience supporting application development teams
- Experience supporting data applications and their development teams
- Limited production support activities
- Experience supporting database and application access control processes.
- Experience maintaining code deployment processes
Job Expectations:
- Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three eight-hour days in the office per week
- After hours production code deployment support when needed
- This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
